IGHEM 2008 - Milan, Italy is the 7th inter- national
conference on hydraulic efficiency measurements.
The conference will give the opportunity to hydro
specialists and measurement experts from all parts of the world
to present and discuss the latest in testing results and measurement
problem solving.
The target is: Improve measurement techniques and test innovative
methodologies, focusing also the way to get better prediction
of hydro performances and behaviour .
The conference is being held under the patronage of the International
Group for Hydraulic Efficiency Measurement (IGHEM).
The location of the conference will be Milan, Italy where culture,
history and technology meet and merge. Milan is at same time the
industrial and commercial heart of Italy, the location of some
of the most important Italian energy companies (ENEL AEM EDISON
EDIPOWER etc) and the place where Leonardo da Vinci developed
and applied his studies on hydraulics “ ne lo parlar de
l’acque intelletto e scienza seguono isperienza”.
We will be pleased and honoured to invite hydro specialists and
measurement experts to discover this stimulating place where past,
present and future are always together and to share experiences
with “old friends” and new colleagues. Technical contributions
are warmly welcome because, as Leonardo said, experience (and
sharing experiences) is the only way to improve knowledge.
In order to give the chance to young engineer and doctorate students
to attend the conference and contribute to the discussion (with
papers but also short communications) a special session and an
award for the best presentation (selected by the technical committee)
is foreseen.
Finally to present equipment, products and services an exposition
area will be prepared concurrently with the conference in the
“Energy museum” (side workshops are also possible)
In the pre or post congress you can take the opportunity to visit
other interesting cities in Italy like Florence, Rome or Venice
or spend a few days in Milan’s neighbourhood: on the Alps,
at the Como lake or visiting the Riviera.
The late summer wheatear should be the best for any choice .
